SoDu We Love Our Moms? Mother’s Day Events in South Durham

By Tricia Smar, Special to Southpoint Access

The second Sunday in May is Mother’s Day (in case you needed a reminder), the day to celebrate our Moms and mother-like figures in our lives. Don’t be caught empty-handed! Shop small for locally made gifts or sign up for a workshop to do with your mama. She’ll love nothing more than to spend time with you…and support local businesses, too.

Below, I’ve curated three lists to help you celebrate moms this weekend.

  • Gifts for Mom: Highlights my favorite gift ideas that support local businesses.
  • Brunch with Mom: Shares several delicious brunch options for this Mother’s Day weekend.
  • Events with Mom: Puts together all the Mother’s Day-related events I could find that you might want to bring Mom or shop at to find a special gift.
