[SoDu Sunrise Showcase] Waiting for the Thaw

Our snow started melting enthusiastically on Thursday afternoon. But because temperatures dropped again overnight (refreezing wet roads) and because quite a few Durham side roads remain a sloppy, slippery mess, Durham Public Schools ordered another day of remote-learning for Friday.

Ok, so my prediction in yesterday’s SoDu Sunrise Showcase newsletter was on the money!

Now I get to spend another day with the kids at home. Pretty sure they’re getting tired of me. But, luckily, roads should be clear enough by lunch that I can get them out of the house for some fresh air and exercise.

It hasn’t been all bad. On Thursday, I started the day making French toast for the family and capped it with a crock pot ropa vieja.

So what else is new?
