Glass Jug Pours Charity Night for Food Hub

The Glass Jug Beer Lab is holding a Pint Night fundraiser on Friday to support the Parktown Food Hub.

A dollar from the sale of each Glass Jug-brewed pint goes to the food hub from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

“We are looking forward to partnering with Parktown Food Hub on this fundraiser and hope to continue to support them in the future,” said Katy Creech, co-owner of The Glass Jug. “Parktown Food Hub is providing an excellent resource to our community, and we hope this event is the first of many collaborative efforts to provide nutritious food to our neighbors during tough times.”

Each year, The Glass Jug Beer Lab donates 10% of its profits to charitable causes focused on helping the local community, as well as STEM-related groups. The Glass Jug’s Research Triangle Park location is in Greenwood Commons Shopping Center at 5410 NC Hwy. 55.

Earlier this spring, leaders of the nonprofit Parktown Food Hub announced their need to raise $150,000 by year’s end to sustain operations. Southpoint Access has pledged 20% of its revenue from subscriptions and sponsorships through July 31 to go to the food hub. Last week, we reported that a donor is matching contributions of up to $1,000, dollar for dollar, until July 1.

“The Glass Jug is right around the corner from the Parktown Food Hub. They value community just like we do, and they’ve been so nice in sharing ideas to host a fundraiser for the Parktown Food Hub,” said Lisa Greene, a food hub board member. “The owners also made suggestions about planning a larger family carnival-type fundraising event later this summer. We’ll be using some of our time together at Pint Night to brainstorm for the larger event.”
