Rogers-Herr Middle School has received a $20,000 grant from The Forest at Duke to expand access to digital educational tools and technology across all subject areas.
The funding will support a range of classroom enhancements aimed at enriching student learning and ensuring equitable access to modern instructional resources.
The grant will be used to purchase subscriptions to key educational platforms including iEdPuzzle, Quizizz, Flocabulary, and Delta Math – tools known for boosting student engagement and reinforcing academic content through interactive learning. Additionally, the school will invest in new chargers for classrooms and digital display attachments for hallway monitors, allowing for better communication and learning reinforcement throughout the building.
The proposal was co-authored by Dorothy Carr, chair of the school’s Media and Technology Advisory Committee (MTAC), and Media Coordinator Jennifer Lee. Their focus was on integrating tools that promote student growth in reading and math, introduce safe and effective uses of artificial intelligence in education, and help cultivate a more connected and informed school community.
With the support of this grant, Rogers-Herr Middle is poised to deepen its commitment to academic excellence and innovation. School leaders say the improvements will help students and educators thrive in a rapidly changing educational landscape.
