Parkwood UMC Fundraiser Planned in May

Parkwood United Methodist Church invites the South Durham community to its annual fundraiser, a two-day event packed with estate finds, local treasures, and community spirit.

Taking place on May 16 (3 to 7 p.m.) and May 17 (8 a.m. to 2 p.m.) at 5123 Revere Rd., this popular spring event raises funds to support neighbors in need while bringing people together over shared generosity – and a good hot dog.

Shoppers can browse a wide selection of estate items, including furniture, pottery, jewelry, and home décor. A plant sale, bake sale, and silent auction also will keep visitors engaged and giving throughout both days. Fresh baked goods and coffee will be available throughout the event, with hot dogs and all the fixings for sale Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The silent auction, ending at 1 p.m. on Saturday, features an impressive lineup of sports memorabilia and local gifts. Highlights include:

  • Team-autographed Carolina Hurricanes jersey
  • Signed basketballs from Duke’s Jon Scheyer and Clemson’s Dabo Swinney
  • Personalized, autographed UNC football from Bill Belichick
  • Signed soccer ball from the 2024 UNC Women’s National Championship team
  • Autographed Kyle Larson NASCAR miniature car and cap
  • Durham Bulls tickets and more

Additional auction items include gift cards to local restaurants and merchants, gas cards, handcrafted items, gift baskets, and more.

All proceeds benefit local outreach initiatives supported by Parkwood UMC.
