The campus at Jordan High School saw two incidents on Thursday that led to elevated alert – including lockdown status during a search for a student with a firearm.
According to the Durham County Sheriff’s Office, their counterparts in Orange County early Thursday afternoon sought help trying to find a missing juvenile at the Durham high school. Jordan High went to secure status during that search, which led to the location of the missing person, who was turned over to Orange County.
While this happened, authorities got a presumably unrelated report that a student on campus had a firearm. This resulted in a lockdown.
