[Letter to the Editor] Support Tourette Syndrome Research Funding

Writes Maria Xenakis Easton: “Four years ago, our daughter was diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome. At the time, we had noticed some jerky movements but were blindsided by the diagnosis. Like many, we had little understanding of what TS really was. We thought it was mostly about uncontrollable cursing (a type of TS called coprolalia, affecting only 10% of TS individuals), but the reality is much more nuanced. Tourette’s and tic disorders manifest differently in each person.”
