Durham: Give Input on the New Trail to Roxboro!

Durham residents will have two chances in February to weigh in on plans to transform an inactive rail corridor into a multi-use trail connecting downtown Durham to Roxboro.

The proposed 26-mile trail network will link communities and promote outdoor activity. Public workshops are scheduled for Feb. 4 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the main branch of the Durham County Library (300 N. Roxboro St.) and Feb. 5 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the North Regional Library (221 Milton Rd.).

The project is a collaboration among local governments, the North Carolina Department of Transportation, and the East Coast Greenway Alliance.

Community leaders highlight the trail’s potential to enhance transportation, celebrate Durham’s history, and create a lasting legacy. For those unable to attend the workshops, input can be provided through an online survey as planning progresses toward concept design this summer and a final plan in the fall.
