The Durham City Council will consider several significant items during tonight’s meeting, including the proposed Brickworks development, a massive project that could bring up to 1,880 residential units and 49,500 square feet of commercial space to a 95-acre site near U.S. Highway 70 and East End Avenue. Another rezoning request, for Davis Park West, proposes changes to design commitments that would allow structured parking and additional office uses alongside residential and commercial spaces.
Also on the agenda are decisions tied to the city’s infrastructure, public safety, and community programs. Highlights include approving contracts for sidewalk repairs, fire department equipment upgrades, and youth education-to-career initiatives, as well as discussions about housing and community development funding priorities for the next five years.
