A major step forward has been announced for the Triangle Mobility Hub, a 19-acre mixed-use development planned for Research Triangle Park, with Hoffman & Associates selected as the master developer.
The project is being developed in partnership with GoTriangle and the Research Triangle Foundation of North Carolina. It aims to create a walkable, transit-oriented community anchored by a new multi-modal transit center and supported by a mix of residential, commercial, office, retail, and hospitality spaces.
Located just off Interstate 40 and less than a mile from Hub RTP, the Mobility Hub is designed to connect existing and future transportation options, including bus rapid transit and regional rail, with pedestrian and bike infrastructure.
Key features will include covered bus and paratransit bays, air-conditioned waiting areas, amenities for rideshare and microtransit, and a new headquarters for GoTriangle. A hotel is also part of the proposed development.

The development is expected to preserve the site’s natural features, integrating topography and adjacent woodlands into its layout to support environmental sustainability. The team behind the project includes architecture, planning, and engineering firms such as Oppidan, LS3P, HDR, Swift Partners, Moriarty, CBRE, Greystar, and Concord.
No construction timeline has been announced, but the project is expected to play a major role in shaping the next phase of growth in Research Triangle Park and the broader Triangle region.
