Violent crimes declined slightly in 2024 compared to 2023, but property crimes were on the rise.
That’s according to the Durham Police Department’s Fourth Quarter Crime Report, which is up for consideration as part of the consent agenda during Monday night’s City Council meeting. The report accounts for Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2024, and includes information about shifts in violent and property crimes, clearance rates, response times, staffing levels, and noteworthy law enforcement efforts.
