[SoDu How-To] Parktown Food Hub Open Distribution Days

On the second and fourth Thursday of each month, the Parktown Food Hub in Parkwood holds open distribution from its food pantry. The next open distribution event is Thursday, Feb. 27. Here are some things you should know before you go:

  • The Parktown Food Hub is at 5123 Revere Rd. Space is limited, so drivers are asked to line cars up in the parking lot across the street.
  • Everyone is welcome. No documents or appointments are required. Food Hub volunteers ask for just two families per vehicle.
  • Distribution runs from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. or until items are gone. Cars shouldn’t line up any sooner than 3:45 p.m.
  • Distributed items received from the Food Bank of North Carolina may include (among other things) produce, meat, and canned goods.
  • The Food Hub can serve as many as 150 families. Numbers are given to cars in the parking lot in order of line entry, until all numbers are gone.
