[SoDu How-To] Know Your Supplies for Forest View Elementary School 2025-26

Durham Public Schools traditional calendar campuses are back in service on Aug. 25. Whether your child is entering kindergarten or wrapping up elementary school in 5th, having the right supplies can make a big difference.

Here’s a complete breakdown of what your Forest View Elementary School student needs, including required materials for each grade level and helpful donation items that teachers welcome throughout the year. Forest View holds its open house on Friday, Aug. 22, from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

🧸 Kindergarten

Shared Supplies (Do not label):

• 2 boxes of 24-count Crayola crayons
• Ticonderoga pencils
• 1 pair of Fiskars scissors
• 6 Elmer’s glue sticks (not fat ones)
• Expo fine-tip black dry-erase markers
• 1 large white eraser
• 3 plastic folders with pockets (red, blue, green)
• Clorox wipes
• 1 box of tissues
• Last name A–M: white cardstock
• Last name N–Z: colored cardstock

Individual Supplies (Please label):

• 1 pair of headphones (no Bluetooth or wireless)
• 1 white T-shirt (1 size larger than current size)
• 1 water bottle (for water use only)
• 1 clear hard plastic pencil case

Wishes (Optional):

• Healthy snacks
• Stickers
• Play-Doh

Communal Supplies (No names except pencil box & headphones):

• 4 skinny black Expo markers
• 8 glue sticks
• Ticonderoga wood pencils
• 1 pair of kid scissors
• 2 white or pink erasers (no cap erasers)
• 1 wide-ruled composition notebook
• 1 box of tissues
• Lysol or Clorox wipes
• 1 pair of headphones (no earbuds or headset mics)

• A–M: Ziploc bags (any size)
• N–Z: Hand sanitizer
