[SoDu How-To] Know Your Supplies for Lyons Farm Elementary School 2025-26

Durham Public Schools traditional calendar campuses are back in service on Aug. 25. Whether your child is entering kindergarten or wrapping up elementary school in 5th, having the right supplies can make a big difference. Lyons Farm Elementary School is set to have its open house on Aug. 21 from 6 to 7 p.m.

Here’s a complete breakdown of what your child needs, including required materials for each grade level and helpful donation items that teachers welcome throughout the year.

🧸 Pre-K & Kindergarten

Label These:

• Primary writing journal (with picture box and writing lines)
• Headphones (no Bluetooth) or zipper pouch
• Pair of scissors
• One complete extra outfit (socks, underwear, top, bottoms) in a labeled Ziploc bag

Community Supplies:

• 4 boxes of 24-count crayons
• 1 pack of pre-sharpened pencils
• 2 packs of thin Expo markers
• 1 plastic 2-pocket folder
• 3 packs of glue sticks
• 2 containers of Clorox wipes
• 1 box each: quart and gallon Ziploc bags
• 1 box of tissues
• Hand sanitizer
