[SoDu How-To] Know Your Supplies for Pearsontown Elementary School 2025-26

Believe it or not, some South Durham families already have to think about back-to-school supplies. Year-round learners at Pearsontown Elementary School, as an example, start anew on Monday, July 21. For Pearsontown, administrators are holding an open house on July 18 from 1 to 4 p.m.

Whether your child is entering kindergarten or wrapping up elementary school in 5th, having the right supplies can make a big difference.

Here’s a complete breakdown of what your child needs, including required materials for each grade level and helpful donation items that teachers welcome throughout the year.


🍎 Kindergarten

✳️ Note: Teachers may share individual supply lists after staggered entry.

Labeled Supplies (Write Your Child’s First and Last Name):

  • Full-sized backpack (no wheels) – must fit a binder
  • Full change of clothes (including underwear/socks) in a clear zip-lock bag
  • Reusable, spill-proof water bottle
  • Pencil zipper pouch with clear front
  • Pair of child-safe scissors
  • Child-sized wired headphones (no wireless)
  • Spiral-bound sketchbook
  • 2 plastic folders with prongs

  • 4 small glue sticks
  • 1 pack #2 pencils (24-count)
  • 2 packs washable markers (10-count)
  • 2 boxes zip-lock bags (any size)
  • 3 containers Clorox or Lysol wipes
  • 4+ pack black dry-erase markers
  • 1 individual whiteboard
  • 1 pack white cardstock

  • 4 packs of black dry-erase markers
  • 2 boxes of tissues
  • 1 bottle of hand sanitizer
  • 3 containers of Clorox wipes
  • Pencil pouch with clear front (labeled)
  • Headphones (labeled)
  • Personal dry erase board (labeled)
  • Optional: Small labeled whiteboard eraser
  • 2 packs (12-count) Ticonderoga pencils
  • Reusable water bottle

🧠 Second Grade

  • 3 plastic folders (red, yellow, blue – with pockets and prongs)
  • 2 wide-ruled composition notebooks (marbled)
  • Extra clothes including socks and underwear in labeled plastic bag

  • Scissors
  • 4 glue sticks
  • 2 packs Crayola crayons (24-count only)
  • 1 pack Crayola markers (broad line)
  • 2 packs #2 pencils (24-count)

  • 2 packs fine tip Expo markers
