SoDu social media exploded Sunday afternoon after a short message appeared on the Perkins Orchard Facebook page: “Closing indefinitely Monday June 9th 2025.”
Were they hacked, customers wondered. Could this possibly be true?
Well, it turns out that, yes, in fact, it is true. The South Durham fixture at 5749 Barbee Rd. will close while owner Donovan Alexander Watson takes a break and ponders the future.
“I can assure you it’s not permanent,” Watson told Southpoint Access.
He said he appreciates the support shown by customers, but offered assurances that he’ll return.
