South Durham Middle Schools Dominate in Playoffs

From walk-off hits to photo finishes, middle school athletes from across Durham Public Schools brought their best to the field, track, and stadium for the 2025 DPS Middle School Championship series.

Held at locations across the district, the events highlighted not only the athleticism of Durham’s young competitors but also the strength of school spirit and community support behind them.

Students from Githens, Durham School of the Arts, Rogers-Herr, Shepard, Brogden, and other middle schools competed for top honors in baseball, girls’ soccer, softball, and track & field – with MVP performances and hard-fought team efforts marking each title matchup.
