Durham City Council Approves Two Developments

The Durham City Council on Monday night voted in favor of rezonings and annexations that will bring new homes to southeast Durham County.

  • Strauss Drive Townhouses earned unanimous approval from council members. That’ll put as many as 95 residential units on 13.5 acres.
  • The Howard Property, along Wake Forest Highway, will build about 499 residential units on 86.41 acres. This passed 4-3. Mayor Leonardo Williams, Mayor Pro-Temp Mark-Anthony Middleton, Javiera Caballero, and Carl Rist voted in favor, with Nate Baker, Chelsea Cook, and DeDreana Freeman in opposition.
