The vibrant spirit of Greece returns to South Durham as the 2025 Durham Greek Festival takes place on May 3 (11 a.m. to 8 p.m.) and May 4 (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.) at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, at 8306 NC Hwy 751 – just south of Interstate 40 Exit 274 near The Streets at Southpoint.
This popular annual event offers a family-friendly celebration of Greek culture, featuring authentic cuisine, traditional music and dance, artisan shopping, and guided church tours. Admission is free, and the festival will be held rain or shine.
🍽️ Savor Authentic Greek Cuisine
Indulge in a variety of Greek culinary delights, including moussaka, spanakopita, and gyros. Complement your meal with Greek wines and beers at the Taverna, and don’t miss the selection of homemade pastries like baklava and galaktoboureko.
🎶 Immerse Yourself in Greek Music and Dance
Experience Greek music and folk dance performances throughout the weekend. Church youth in traditional costumes will showcase regional dances, and attendees are encouraged to join in the festivities. Free dance lessons will be available, allowing everyone to participate in the joyful “kefi” spirit.

The festival’s marketplace offers a diverse array of vendors:
- Bakaliko Greek Grocery: Stock up on Greek staples like olives, feta cheese, olive oil, and sweet tsoureki bread.
