[SoDu Alert] Piney Wood Park Pickleball Court Hours Changing

Neighbor complaints around Piney Wood Park apparently led Durham Parks and Recreation to change the hours at the park’s pickleball court.

Currently, players can use the courts from sunup to 9 p.m. Starting July 1, that changes to 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., when lights turn off.

“This change is due to the proximity of the courts to surrounding homes and the noise generated by the courts, which is impacting the daily quality of life for neighbors in the area,” DPR announced in a Facebook post on Sunday. “DPR seeks to be a good steward of Durham’s public recreation spaces as well as a good neighbor. We thank you in advance for your understanding.”

The park is located at 400 E. Woodcroft Pkwy.
