Durham Hosts 22nd Annual Women’s Forum at City Hall

The City of Durham will host the 22nd Annual Women’s Forum on Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. The free, public event honors National Women’s History Month and invites residents to attend in person or watch via livestream.

The Human Relations Division of the Neighborhood Improvement Services Department and ISLA NC are organizing this year’s forum, themed “Moving Forward Together – Women Educating and Inspiring Generations.” The program celebrates women who have made significant contributions to the Durham community and encourages dialogue across generations.

From 5:30 to 6 p.m., attendees can join a meet-and-greet in the City Hall lobby, where the city will provide light refreshments and opportunities to network with staff and local leaders. The forum will begin at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.

Beverly Thompson, director of the city’s Communications Department, will moderate the panel discussion. Alexis John, acting director of Neighborhood Improvement Services, will deliver welcoming remarks.

A panel of six local leaders will share insights on education, leadership, work-life balance, and personal growth. Speakers include:

City staff will offer Spanish interpretation for in-person attendees. They will also provide free parking vouchers for guests using the Chapel Hill Street Garage at 326 E. Chapel Hill St., located across from City Hall.

Residents can also watch the forum live on Durham Television Network or stream it on the city’s YouTube channel.
