The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for North Carolina regions – including South Durham – for Sunday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Southwest winds between 15 and 25 mph, gusting up to 55 mph, are possible. These winds could topple trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles.
Residents are advised to remain in the lower levels of homes during the windstorm, and to avoid windows.
