South Durham Criminal Incident Reports for February 2025

According to the City of Durham Police Department’s LexisNexis Community Crime Map, during the past month our South Durham neighborhoods have seen a range of criminal activities and incidents, from property crimes like theft and vandalism to more serious offenses, including assault and robbery.

The data indicates that residents between Dec. 31 to Jan. 29 have reported:

  • Aggravated Assault: 2
  • Commercial Burglary: 6
  • Commercial Robbery: 2
  • Harassment/Intimidation: 7
  • Individual Robbery: 4
  • Missing Person: 1
  • Motor Vehicle Burglary: 49
  • Motor Vehicle Theft: 25
  • Residential Burglary: 6
  • Sex Offense – Fondling: 1
  • Simple Assault: 13
  • Theft: 15
  • Vandalism: 9

Some key takeaways from the data:

  • T.W. Alexander Drive was the biggest hotspot for vehicle-related crimes.
  • Alston Avenue South and Farrington Road had seven incidents each, including vehicle burglaries, assaults, and thefts.
