Duke and UNC Partner to Build New Children’s Hospital

Duke Health and UNC Health are joining forces to create NC Children’s, a groundbreaking pediatric health system anchored by a 500-bed freestanding hospital. Supported by an initial $320 million investment from the state, the project will also include an outpatient care center and a behavioral health facility on a 100-acre site in the Triangle. While the hospital is slated to open in the early 2030s, some core services like a behavioral health hospital and ambulatory surgical center could launch earlier.
