This week, we remember the lives of community members who have recently passed. Services include a celebration of life for Danny Dowell Goodwin, 78, at Immaculate Conception Church in Durham on Jan. 21, and a memorial for Madeline Wilson Allen, 61, at Brier Pointe Retirement Community on Jan. 22. Upcoming services also honor Willie Mae Foster, 69, on Jan. 23 at Jesus House of Prayer, and James “Jimmy” Vickers, 89, on Jan. 24 at First Assembly of God in Durham. A graveside service for Victoria “Vicki” Haddock Andrews, 67, is also planned for Jan. 23 at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
Other upcoming celebrations include a Feb. 8 gathering for Corlis Johnston Wood, 80, at Trinity Avenue Baptist Church, and a March 1 service for Jean Mann Watkins, 99, at Triangle Grace Church.
