Durham County Library branches are hosting LibCon919 during the week of March 18, featuring events focused on creative endeavors, tabletop roleplaying, and superheroes.
Main Library Events
- Demon Slayer Trivia. Tweens and teens ages 10 and up are invited to participate in this anime trivia session. The top-scoring team takes home a small prize. March 20, 4:30-6 p.m.
- Danny J. Quick: How to Make a Graphic Novel. Quick, the mind behind Aceblade the Vegas Vigilante comic book series, offers a workshop with tips and tricks to create a graphic novel. March 23, 2-3 p.m.
South Regional Library Events
- Dungeons and Dragons Character Sheet Kit. Pick up everything you need to get started making your own D&D character. Every day during the week of March 18.
- One Piece Escape Impel Down Game. Part escape room, part roleplaying game, you try to escape from Impel Down, a maximum security prison for the world’s most dangerous criminals and pirates. March 18, 5-6 p.m. (tweens and teens only); March 20, 6-7 p.m. (adults); March 21, 4-5 p.m. (tweens and teens only)
- Anime/Manga Drawing Class. Local artist Alberto Lung will teach, with supplies provided by the library. No previous drawing skills necessary. March 19,. 6-7 p.m.
Southwest Regional Library Events
- Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse Movie Showing. Miles Morales navigates the multiverse in this animated movie for teens, tweens, and families. Popcorn provided. March 19. 4-6:15 p.m.
- Teen LGBTQ Book Club. The club reads various genres, but all books deal with LGBTQIA+ issues. For March, the book is Project Nought by Chelsey Furedi. The program is for teens, 13 and older. March 23, 4:30-5:30 p.m.
